ABOUT G&S

To My Current and Future Customers:

 

I have been working in the food business since I was 17 years old. When I began working at G&S, the store was in need of a revival. When I took the store over, I brought with me my experience, from working for Jimmy’s Famous Hero’s, and the knowledge that I gained from working for Boar’s Head. I put all of my efforts into growing G&S and it flourished. It has developed into a Mom and Pop store, which is very rare in this day and age. After nineteen years in business, my employees and I know the names of our customers, their children, and their grandchildren. I have catered my customer’s weddings and their children’s graduations and communions. Eight years ago Jimmy Prince, who owned a traditional prime butcher shop called Major Meats in Coney Island for sixty years, decided to retire and hang his hat in my store. He has brought a world of knowledge into G&S. Currently we are one of very few stores that sell exclusively hanging prime beef. We do not sell any meat that has been cryovaced. Our food is always fresh and of a quality that I serve to my own family. G&S has been in existence for close to 100 years. My goal is to give quality food and quality service with a smile.
